Reichenbach f. named some orchids after Colonel Deare (cf. Backer, Verkl. Woordenb., 1936) of Englefield Green (near Egham, W of London), the owner of a beautiful collection of exotic orchids. According to Rickets (cf. Orch. Review 1936, p. 78), Colonel Deare himself collected orchids in Borneo (Sarawak), a short time before 1885.
