An American ex-soldier who contracted tuberculosis in the Philippines, and then settled in the mountains of Luzon, at Pauai (N. part of Benguet Prov.), growing vegetables. He collected orchids and a few other plants in Luzon; Merrill, Enum. Philip. Fl.Pl., mentioned the nos 10, 14 and 127.
