Born: 1876, Geneva, Switzerland. Died: 1939, Basel, Switzerland.

 

career:

Zoologist, educated at Geneva; since 1902 Custodian of the Natural History Museum, Basel. He accompanied H. Merton (see there for itiner., liter., etc.) on a voyage to the Aroe and Kai Islands from Oct. 1907-Aug. 1908.1 In 1911/12 he accompanied Fritz Sarasin to New Caledonia and the Loyalty Islands. He retired in 1937.

Evidently he made a botanical collection too.2

The ethnological objects preserved at Frankfurt and Basel.
