Born: 1885, Singapore.

 

career:

Foreman Gardener in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, 1899-1913; later nurseryman and dealer in plants. For many years he occasionally brought plants to the Singapore Gardens for naming and for sale. He collected in Sarawak, NW. Borneo, as early as 1911, evidently in Rhio (= Riouw) too.1

Plethiandra sahebii Burk. was named after him (cf. Journ. Str. Br. Roy. As. Soc. no 77, 1917, p. 265-269, 4 fig.).
