Probably O. Schneider, about 1890 captain of the ‘Ysabel’, and in 1891 quitting the German New Guinea Company. He made many tours by boat along the coast of former Kaiser-Wilhelmsland.

collections:

Marine Algae, from Hatzfeldhafen, NE. New Guinea.¹ The collection was apparently made about 1890/91; its location is not known. He evidently collected in Samoa in 1892. No phanerogam collections known to us.
