Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 32 m tall and 63 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, usually large and quite hairy on lower surface. Flowers ca. 55 mm in diameter, white-yellowish, ramiflorous, placed in small bundles. Fruitlets ca. 20 mm long, yellow-brown, densely hairy, placed in an apocarp, each fruitlet with several seeds.

Ecology
Undisturbed forests up to 1100 m altitude. Often on hillsides and ridges, but occasionally on alluvial soils. Also found in keranga forest and submontane moss forest. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, West-, Central- and East-Kalimantan).
