Description
Sub-canopy tree up to 24 m tall and 36 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves
alternate, simple, penni-veined. Flowers with ca. 15 mm long petals,
white-yellow-red, cauliflorous. Fruitlets ca. 38 mm long, yellow, fleshy, placed
in apocarp, fruitlets 1-seeded.
Ecology
Undisturbed forests up to 1000 m altitude. In secondary forests usually
present as a pre-disturbance remnant.
Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo (East-Kalimantan).
Note
No collections of this species from Borneo are present in the Leiden
Herbarium, so either this is a new record for Borneo, or it is wrongly
identified.
