Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 33 m tall and 53 cm dbh. Stem with white to yellow latex. Leaves opposite, simple, penni-veined, secondary veins placed close together, glabrous, lower surface whitish. Flowers ca. 11 mm diameter, white. Fruits ca. 14 mm diameter, green, fleshy drupes.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and keranga forests up to 700 m altitude. Usually on hillsides and ridges with sandy to clay soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.

Uses
Latex locally used as lamp oil. The wood is locally used for construction purposes. The fruit is edible but sour.

Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo (Sarawak, West-, Central-, South- and East-Kalimantan).
