Latin for 'slender flower'.
Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 32 m tall and 71 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves
alternate, simple, penni-veined, often with long drip tip. Flower ca. 2 mm in
diameter, white-yellow, with corolla tube, placed in bundles or solitary on long
stalk. Fruits ca. 19 mm long, yellow-red-blue-black, fleshy berry.
Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp or keranga forests up to 1300 m altitude.
Mostly on hillsides and ridges, but also quite common on alluvial sites. On
sandy to clay soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance
remnant tree.
Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo (Sarawak, Sabah, East-Kalimantan).
