Description
Sub-canopy tree up to 24 m tall and 39 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 9 mm long. Leaves grouped at end of twigs, alternate, simple, penni-veined, slightly hairy below. Flowers ca. 1.3 mm in diameter, yellow-cream, placed in branched racemes. Fruits ca. 28 mm long, yellowish-brown, fleshy indehiscent capsule, cauliflorous, seeds with white-yellowish aril.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp forests up to 700 m altitude. Mostly on sandy ridges. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.

Uses
The fruits are edible.

Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, West- and East-Kalimantan).
