Blumeodendron tokbrai (Bl.) Kurz, J. As. Soc. Bengal 42 (1873)
Named after the local Sundanese name for this species.

Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 33 m tall and 47 cm dbh. Leaves alternate, opposite or in whorls, simple, penni-veined, glabrous. Flowers ca. 4 mm diameter, pale yellow to orange, placed in racemes. Fruits ca. 29 mm long, green-yellowish, indehiscent capsules, seeds with cream aril.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and montane forests up to 1900 m altitude, sometimes in peat swamp forest. Mostly on hillsides and ridges. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.

Uses
Wood used for indoor construction. The arils of the seeds are edible.

Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, West-, Central-, South- and East-Kalimantan), Philippines, Moluccas, New Guinea.
