Albizia pedicellata Baker ex Benth., Trans. Linn. Soc. 30 (1875)
Latin for 'stalked'.

Description
Upper canopy tree up to 42 m tall and 68 cm dbh. Stipules up to ca. 2.5 mm long, becoming curved and thorn-like, dropped early. Leaves alternate, compound, leaflets very small, sessile, opposite, glabrous, penni-veined. Flowers ca. 3 mm diameter, white, long corolla tube with protruding stamens, flowers placed in branched inflorescences. Fruits ca. 190 mm long, green to golden yellow, strongly flattened indehiscent pods.

Ecology
In undisturbed to slightly disturbed mixed dipterocarp forests up to 200 m altitude. Usually on alluvial sites with sandy soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree. The pods are probably wind dispersed.

Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, East-Kalimantan), Philippines.
