Sibuyan, Philippines.

Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 32 m tall and 52 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 6 mm long.
Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, glabrous. Flowers ca. 3 mm diameter,
green-yellow, placed in racemes. Fruits ca. 43 mm diameter, green-yellow, nut
completely enclosed by cupule with long spines.
Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and coastal forests up to 200 m altitude.
Usually on hillsides and ridges with sandy soils. In secondary forests usually
present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.
Uses
The timber is used for construction and furniture.
