Description
Emergent tree up to 52 m tall and 88 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves
alternate, compound, penni-veined, glabrous to hairy, margin of leaflets
toothed. Flowers ca. 2 mm diameter, greenish, catkin-like. Fruits ca. 38 mm
long, green-yellow-brown, hairy nuts with leaf-like wings.
Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp, keranga and sub-montane forests up to 1700
m altitude. On ridges and alluvial sites, usually on poor sandy soils. In
secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.
Uses
The wood is locally used.

Burma, Indo-China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo
(throughout the island), Philippines, Celebes, Moluccas.
