Cinnamomum cuspidatum Miq., Ann. Mus. Bot. Lugd. Bat. 1 (1864)
Latin for 'pointed', referring to the leaves.

Description
Shrubs up to 5 m tall and 8 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves (sub)-opposite, simple, tripli-veined, glabrous. Flowers ca. 4 mm diameter, white-yellow, placed in axillary cymes. Fruits ca. 15 mm long, green?, fleshy drupes placed on swollen flower base with persistent calyx lobes.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp, keranga and sub-montane forests up to 1400 m altitude. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.

Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo (Sarawak, East-Kalimantan).
