Latin for 'flowers in umbels'.

Description
Upper canopy tree up to 47 m tall and 80 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, glabrous. Flowers ca. 2 mm diameter, yellow-red, placed in small umbells. Fruits ca. 22 mm long, green, drupes.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and swamp forests up to 900 m altitude. Both common on alluvial sites and along rivers as well as on hillsides and ridges. On clay to sandy soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant tree.

Uses
The wood is locally used for house building.

Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Borneo (throughout the island), Philippines.
