Microcos cinnamomifolia Burret, Notizbl. Bot. Gart. Berl.-Dahl. 9 (1926)
Latin for 'leaves similar to those of Cinnamomum', a genus in the Lauraceae family.

Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 31 m tall and 42 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 1 mm long, dropped early. Leaves alternate, simple, tripli-veined, with basal secondary veins running along the whole length of the leaf, glabrous, conspicuous domatia in the secondary vein axils at the leaf base. Flowers ca. 6 mm diameter, yellow, placed in racemes to panicles. Fruits ca. 12 mm long, yellow-orange-red, drupes.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and keranga forests up to 800 m altitude. On hillsides and ridges with sandy soils, but also on clay and limestone. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, Central- and East-Kalimantan).
