Artocarpus longifolius Becc., For. Borneo (1902)
Latin for 'long leaves'.

Description
Understorey tree up to 19 m tall and 27 cm dbh. Stem with white sap. Stipules ca. 4 mm long, hairy. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, hairy below, feeling like sand-paper. Flowers ca. 0.5 mm diameter, yellowish, flowers fused into a globose flower body. Fruits probably ca. 60 mm diameter, yellow-brown, syncarp with many seeds within flesh.

Ecology
In undisturbed to slightly disturbed mixed dipterocarp and keranga forests up to 100 m altitude. On hillsides and ridges with sandy soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, Central- and East-Kalimantan).
