Description
Tree up to 22 m tall and 88 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 7 mm long, broadly
triangular. Leaves opposite, simple, penni-veined, glabrous to hairy, leaf base
usually cordate. Flowers ca. 11 mm diameter, white-cream, with long corolla
tube, flowers placed in compressed, umbelliform inflorescences. Fruits ca. 22 mm
diameter, greenish, berries?
Ecology
Along sandy and rocky beaches up to 40 m altitude.
Uses
The wood is locally used for making walking sticks.
Distribution
(Sub)-Tropical eastern Africa, Asia and Pacific. In Borneo collected in
Sabah, Sarawak, West- and East-Kalimantan.
