Urophyllum glabrum Wall.
Latin for 'without hairs'.

Description
Understorey tree up to 11 m tall and 47 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 8 mm long, broadly triangular. Leaves opposite, simple, penni-veined, glabrous. Flowers ca. 5 mm diameter, white-yellow, with very short corolla tube, placed in axillary bundles or short cymes. Fruits ca. 4 mm diameter, orange, berries.

Ecology
In undisturbed to slightly disturbed (open sites) mixed dipterocarp, coastal, and swamp forests up to 900 m altitude. Mostly on hillsides and ridges, but also on alluvial sites and along rivers and streams. On sandy to clay soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo (throughout the island), Celebes.
