Description
Upper canopy tree up to 41 m tall and 65 cm dbh. Stem with white sap.
Stipules ca. minute. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, shiny silvery hairy
below. Flowers ca. 7 mm diameter, white-yellow, placed in axillary bundles.
Fruits ca. 24 mm diameter, green, drupes.
Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and sub-montane forests up to 1200 m
altitude. Usually on hillsides and ridges with sandy to clay soils. In secondary
forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.
Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo (throughout the island).
