Latin for 'from Borneo'.

Description
Upper canopy tree up to 41 m tall and 71 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined but venation barely visible, glabrous, margin slightly toothed. Flowers ca. 56 mm diameter, white-yellow, solitary in leaf axils. Fruits ca. 24 mm long, green-yellow, dehiscent capsules with many winged seeds.

Ecology
In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp and sub-montane forests up to 1300 m altitude. Mostly on hillsides and ridges, but also on alluvial sites. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, West- and East-Kalimantan).
