Latin for 'red', referring to the hairs.

Description
Shrub up to 3 m tall and 6 cm dbh. Stipules ca. 30 mm long, narrow wing. Leaves alternate, compound, leaflets penni- to tripli-veined, glabrous, margin toothed. Flowers ca. 5 mm diameter, red-white-yellow, placed in panicles. Fruits ca. 9 mm diameter, red-blue-purple, drupes.

Ecology
In secondary regrowth and scrub up to 500 m altitude. Also on limestone.

Distribution
From India and southern China to New Guinea and Australia. In Borneo collected in Sabah, South- and East-Kalimantan.
