During a 2 months stay at the herbarium of the Museum National D’Histoire Naturelle (Paris) type specimens of Austral-Asian Annonaceae have been identified, verified and compared with existing literature and databases elsewhere. This resulted in a preliminary draft for a checklist of Annonaceae species from Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam which will be completed with relevant information of other major European herbaria that house the major collection of this family. It is envisaged to publish the checklist as hardcopy in early 2005 and have the information available on the internet at the same time.
