Born: 1879, Purmerend, N.H., Holland. Died: 1938, Amersfoort, U., Holland.

 

career:

Botanist, from 1908-14 Assistant and Custodian for Botany at Utrecht University; appointed Botanist at the Buitenzorg Herbarium in 1914, and in the same year Acting Chief of that institute; in Oct. 1917 transferred to the Agric. Inst., Subdivision for Annual Crops of the General Experiment Station for Agriculture (Buitenzorg), specially charged with the selection of maize. He retired in 1932, and subsequently sailed for Europe.

Author of a ‘Zakflora voor de Landbouwstreken op Java’ (1916).

He is commemorated in Stachytarpheta boldinghii Moldenke.
