Born: 1873, Domfront, Orne, France. Died: 1956, Paris, France.

 

career:

Was educated at Caen from 1893-96, and took his Dr’s degree in 1901. He was sent on several missions, mainly to Africa. In 1913-14 to Indo-China, paying a visit to Java in 1914, e.g. at Buitenzorg, and Tjibodas (May 2-4).

Author of many papers on useful plants, published in the Rev. Bot. Appl. Agric. Coloniale. From 1917-19 he was General Inspector of Agriculture and Forests in Indo-China. In 1929 Professor at Paris. He is Director of the Agricultural Colonial Laboratory at Paris.

He is commemorated in Premna chevaliers Dop.
