career:

A native collector employed by H.H. Bartlett (see there), who collected in Asahan and Karo Land, Sumatra East Coast in 1918; in Karo Land for Lörzing (see there) in 1919; for the Forest Research Institute, Buitenzorg 1920, 1928 and 1938-39.

cf. sub H.H. Bartlett. The collection is chiefly interesting from an ethnobotanical standpoint, as Galoengi recorded vernacular names in his own language; most of the species common lowland types. For Lörzing numbered > 554. Herb. For. Res. Inst. Buitenzorg [BZF]: from Karo Lands; dupl. in Herb. Bog. [BO]. A dupl. set of coll. 1919, made on behalf of Lörzing, was presented by the District Officer Middendorp, to Herb. Kol. (= Ind.) Inst. Amsterdam (1920); it amounted to 554 nos.
