Born: 1898, Barmen, Germany.

career:

Officer in the German army; in the years 1921-23 assistant on an estate at Sampit, SE. Borneo.

Diels named several plants after him.

Collecting localities:

1923. S. Borneo: environs of Sampit (May-Oct.).

Evidently he collected at Sabang (P. Weh, N of Sumatra) too, probably on his return to Germany.
