First in the Gardens Department, Straits Settlements, joined the Penang Botanical Gardens in 1900, and since 1908 Forest Ranger in the Forest Department.

Collecting localities:

Malay Peninsula: P. Penang; around Kuala Lumpur (1912) under the direction of Burn-Murdoch (see there).

Collection 1912 sent to Kew [K] (pres. 1913) (cf. Burkill in Gard. Bull. Str. Settlem. 4, 1927, nos 4-5). He contributed to the C.F. (see sub Conservator of Forests) series, Kuala Lumpur [KEP].
