Born: 1858, Copenhagen, Denmark. Died: 1916, Denmark.

 

career:

In 1880 cand. pharmacy, with a lively interest in zoology; from 1880-82 zoological assistant at the Zoo. Prominent socialist, founder of children’s homes.

Conceived the idea of collecting sets of dried plants for sale, but seems not to have carried it out.

 

Collecting localities:

Sumatra East Coast, Deli (Oct. 1); Singapore Isl.: Bt Timah.1-Malay Peninsula: neighbourhood of Singapore and Johore (Nov. 1901) (cf. Burkill in Gard. Bull. Str. Settlem. 4, 1927, nos 4-5).
