career:

From 1896-1903 in Dutch Government service; since 1904 on the staff of the Agricultural Chemical Laboratory at Buitenzorg, from 1910-21 Head of that Laboratory; retired in 1921. Probably identical with Dr A.W. de Jongh, mentioned in the Cyclopaedia.
