Kuntze, Carl Ernest Otto

Born: 1843, Leipsic, Germany. Died: 1907, San Remo, Italy.

 

career:

Merchant-botanist who made a voyage round the world (see below), during which the Malayan region was visited. Later he travelled in Turkestan, S. America (1891-92), and in Africa (1894).1 In 1905 he settled at San Remo.

Several plants were named after him.
