career:

Teacher in natural history at the Luitpold Gymnasium at Munich, entomologist, paid a visit to the D.E.I. (see below), chiefly to obtain material to make illustrations for the new edition of ‘Brehm’s Tierleben’. He spent part of his time in the Foreigners’ Laboratory at Buitenzorg.1

1907. W. Java: arrival at Buitenzorg (Apr. 23); G. Salak (May 12); Tangkuban Prahu (May 19); Tjibodas (May 23-June 7), climbing G. Gedeh-Pangrango (May 28); mangrove forest near Tandjong Priok (June 10); Tjidadap (June 16- ); at Buitenzorg (till the end of J une); Centr. Java: Djokjakarta (to study the culture of sugar-cane); S. coast near Pundung (also at Karangtritis, = probably Parangtritis); E. Java: Soerabaja (July 2), and proceeding to G. Tengger (Tosari, Bromo, etc.); Nusa Kambangan (July 7- ); W. Java: Buitenzorg (till the 16th); Batavia, making a trip to Labuan in Bantam; sailing (20) for Singapore; P. Penang; Sumatra East Coast: Deli, visiting Kwala Binjei, Tandjong Morawa (Aug.), and Bandar Baru; P. Penang (Aug. 20-21); Ceylon ( -Sept. 8).

In his books2 Morin mentions the collecting of plants etc., evidently on behalf of the Luitpold Gymnasium, Munich.
