Born: 1891, The Hague, Holland. Died: 1970.

 

career:

Educated at the Horticultural School, Frederiksoord; in the employ of the Government Caoutchouc Industry in the D.E. 1., 1914-15; since 1915 appointed in Government service in the interest of fruit culture in Java, successively stationed at Batoe (above Malang) 1915-19, at Malang, 1919-20; since 1920 in the Agricultural Department at Buitenzorg and subsequently at Batavia, finally as leader of the sub-division Horticulture; in 1939 appointed Head of the division Co-operation and Home Commerce. In 1946 he resigned; in the same year he was appointed professor in the University of Miami, Florida.

 

Collecting localities:

W. Java: Pasar Minggoe and Ragoenan near Batavia; Sindanglaja (Nov. 12, 1924); N. Sumatra: Atjeh (c. 1929).
