Born: 1866, Katwijk, Z.H., Holland. Died: 1951, Katwijk, Z.H., Holland.

 

career:

From 1892-1902 Military Surgeon in the D.E.I. Army, stationed in Sumatra; in 1902 transferred to the Public Health Service and appointed teacher at the Medical College (at that time named S.T.O.V.I.A.) at Batavia; later filling various other offices in the same town, and in 1916 pensioned off with the rank of Inspector in Chief of the Public Health Service.

Coix ouwehandii Koord. was named after him.

 

Collecting localities:

N. Sumatra (Nov. 1895-July 1897), Tapanoeli: Toba Plateau, at Balige, Dolok Tolong, Toba Highlands, Moeara Toba, Lagoe Boti, Oeloean, Si Torang, Pitoe-Pitoe, Siborongborong, Boetar, Bonan Dolok, Bakara, Lintoeng ni Hoeta, Prangonan (highland), Hoeta Gindjang, etc.
