Born: 1888, Leiden, Holland.

 

career:

Studied natural history at Leiden (K IV); Assistant, later Chief Assistant of Botany at Leiden University; in Oct. 1919 she went to Java for the Dutch Buitenzorg Fund, to collect material and make a provisional survey for future more detailed study on the anatomy of lianas.1 In Sept. 1920 she married C.A.M.A. Becker (cf. also sub Becker-la Rivière, H.), and lived for many years in Noesa Kambangan, S of Java.

 

Collecting localities:

During her stay in Java (Dec. 1919-Sept. 1920), she made various trips in W. Java: Tjibodas and G. Gedeh, near Batavia, Garoet; in Centr. Java: Tjilatjap, Schildpad Bay; and in E. Java: G. Tengger, Zandzee and Bromo.

Java plants in Herb. Leiden [L]. After her marriage she collected Algae in Noesa Kambangan for Mrs Weber-van Bosse (see there).
