Born: 1901, Oudewater, Z.H., Holland. Died: Dec. 22, 1945, Beatrix camp, Singapore.

 

career:

Forest Officer who went to the Dutch East Indies in 1925; in 1935 he was stationed at Manado, N. Celebes. He died as a consequence of imprisonment by the Japanese.

Author of some sylvicultural papers in the periodical ‘Tectona’.

 

Collecting localities:

E. Java: forest district of Oost Brantas (1928); SE. Borneo: P. Laoet, Tanah Boemboe, Batoe Litjin (1928-29);1 N. Celebes (1935).2

Herb. Bog. [BO]: 38 nos from E. Java (acq. Aug. 1928), nos 65-104 from Borneo. Besides these private numbers which mainly concern herbaceous plants, he collected material of trees in the F.R.I. bb. series of the Forest Research Institute Buitenzorg [BZF]; duplicate in Herb. Bog. [BO] too.
