Born: 1909, Buitenzorg, Java

 

career:

Was educated at Wageningen Agricultural College, and came to Java at his own expense. In 1935 he was placed at the disposal of the Director of the Finance Department, and in 1936 at that of the Governor of Celebes, stationed in the office of the Consulting Agriculturist (for the Central Station for Kapok). Since 1938 appointed Forest Officer, at first at Makassar, and since 1940 at Manado,1 respectively in SW. and N. Celebes; in 1948 on half-pay.

Herb. For. Res. Inst. Buitenzorg [BZF]: F.R.I. bb. nos from SE. Celebes (1938): Minahassa, N. Celebes (1941). He presented Celebes plants to Herb. Bog. [BO] in June 1940. On Oct. 9, 1941 he evidently was for some time in SW. Celebes again, as he then collected on G. Bawakračng (summit of G. Bonthain).
