career:

Was appointed Overseer of the Mountain Garden at Tjibodas (W. Java) in 1899. In November 1907 he went to Merauke (Dutch S. New Guinea) for one month, and in August 1908 he was appointed Overseer of the newly founded Agricultural Experiment Garden there. In August 1909 he went on European leave, and after his return in August next year, was replaced at Tjibodas. Early in 1911 he left the Gardens, for a better remunerated place elsewhere.

Herb. Bog. [BO]: plants from Tjibodas, Kandang Badak, Poentjak, Telaga Warna, etc., in W. Java (coll. betw. 1899-1906); from his voyage to Merauke, about 1907/08, he brought back to Buitenzorg an Amorphophallus from S. New Guinea, and orchids etc. from the Tanimbar Islands.
