Born: 1893, Malang, Java; Aug. 29. Died: 1945, prisoner camp at Tjimahi, Java.

 

career:

Studied forestry at Wageningen, Holland; since 1915 appointed Forest Officer in the D.E.I., at first stationed in the teak districts of Java, subsequently in Moena (S of Celebes), 1920-Febr. 1924; Sumatra West Coast (employed by the mining-company Aequator) at Mangani, March-Sept. 1924; in the teak districts in Java again; at Bandjermasin (SE. Borneo), 1934-37; since 1937 at Buitenzorg, where in 1939 appointed Inspector, Chief of the section of Forest Reconnaissance and Organisation of the Outlying Possessions.
