Bosscher, Casparus

Born: 1820, Amsterdam, Holland.



Came to the D.E.I. in 1840; in 1847 he entered the Civil Service, was appointed Resident of Ternate in 1857, of Manado in 1859, of Banka in 1861, of Madoera in 1867, of Kediri in 1872. In 1874 Director of the Dept of Education and Public Worship, in 1875 ditto of the Civil Service; retired in 1876.

He is commemorated in the genus Bosscheria de Vriese & Teijsm.



When Resident of Banka, he gave plants to Teijsmann (cf. Nat. Tijdschr. N.1. 32, 1873, p. 38), which will be in Herb. Bog. [BO].
