Cubitt, George Eaton Stannard

Died: Sept. 17, 1967, aged 91 years, probably at Winchester, England.

 

career:

Conservator of Forests in the Malay Peninsula from 1914. He made many tours of inspection, and retired at the end of 1929. The Department was greatly expanded during his regime.

 

Collecting localities:

Malay Peninsula, e.g.: Semangko Pass (1921), Fraser Hill, in NE. Selangor.

 

collections:

Specimens of forest trees collected in various places, in his departmental Herbarium, Kuala Lump.[KEP] and in Herb. Sing. [SING] (cf. Burkill in Gard. Bull. Str. Settlem. 4, 1927, nos 4-5). Also collections made by Cubitt’s collector. He numbered in the C.F. (see sub Conservator of Forests) series.
