career:

Travelled to Brazil and the U.S.A. in 1839-41; back in France in July 1841. Some years later he made a second voyage, during which he visited the Malaysian region.

 

Collecting localities:

1844-47. Sailing from France in Aug. 1844, visiting the following regions: New Holland, Oceania, Society Isls, Java; Philippines (from Hongkong): Luzon, at Manila, Laguna, Yala-Yala, Pasig, Taal Volcano, Los Baños, Cavite, etc.; China, East Indies and Egypt.

According to his book1 he made natural history collections; possibly including a botanical one.
