Born: 1911, Salisbury, S. Rhodesia, Africa. Died: June 1965, aged 54, ? Pietermaritzburg, S. Africa

 

career:

Botanist, educated at Edinburgh University (B.Sc.); graduating D.Sc. at Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg. Appointed Professor of Botany at the University of Malaya in Sept. 1955. In 1965 he took up a professorship at Pietermaritzburg, S. Africa.

His ecological studies will be published in the Gardens’ Bulletin Singapore.

Author of botanical papers.1

1955 onwards in Singapore.-1956. Langkawi Islands (July); Sarawak: Bako Nat. Park (May 16-22).-1960. NE. New Guinea:2 Chimbu and Daulo Pass. Borneo?

Grasses (in 1957 c. 250) in Herb. Sing. [SING]; ecological material will be presented later on.
