Born: 1868, Soerakarta, Java. Died: 1933, Tjimahi, Java.

 

career:

Entered the D.E. Indian army in 1885, and was pensioned off with the rank of captain in 1910. In the years 1913-14 collector in the employ of the Museum and Inquiry Office for Economic Botany at Buitenzorg (cf. sub K. Heyne). In 1919 he was a resident of Tjitjalengka (W. Java).

Bulbophyllum gusdorfii J.J.Sm. was named after him.

 

Collecting localities:

1913. W. Java: Priangan Residency, e.g. on G. Bèsèr near Tjiandjoer, Geger Bintang and G. Gedeh-Pangrango.-Oct. 1913-1914. S. Sumatra, Lampong Districts: Telok Betong, Menggala, G. Soegih, Spoetik-Toelang Kawang, Kotaboemi, Soekadana, Kota Agoeng.
