career:

Anthropologist, educated at Harvard (B.A. 1956, M.A. 1959) and Vienna (1957-58). Instructor in Anthropology, Harvard University 1965-66 (Ph.D. 1966).1 Assistant Professor at Brown University, Rhode Island, 1966 onwards. Attached to the Peabody Museum of Harvard Expedition as Cultural Anthropologist, making ethnographic studies in Irian (former Dutch New Guinea).
