Born: 1895, Goedereede, Holland. Died: 1972, Hilversum, Netherlands.

 

career:

Zoologist who was educated and took his Ph. Dr’s degree (1925) in the University of Amsterdam; Entomologist of the Deli Experiment Station (Medan, Sumatra), 1927-29; in June 1929 temporarily appointed in the Zoological Museum at Buitenzorg (Java); in the West Java Experiment Station at Buitenzorg, 1930-35; subsequently in the Marine Biological Laboratory at Batavia. After World War II he was stationed at the newly established Marine Biological Laboratory at Makassar, SW. Celebes.

Author of zoological papers.

 

Collecting localities:

Lesser Sunda Islands. W. Flores (Oct.-Nov. 1929); W. Flores: environs of Mboera and Laboean Badjo (June 1937).1

 

collections:

Herb. Bog. [BO]: some nos collected in 1929 and 38 nos in 1937. On the second tour he was assisted by the Indonesian Soehanda (see there), who was in the employ of the Herbarium Buitenzorg.
