Jukes, Prof. J. Beete

Accompanied H.M.S. ‘Fly’ under the command of Capt. F.P. Blackwood (1842-46) as a naturalist.1 He made zoological and geological collections; the plants were probably collected by J. MacGillavry (see there for itiner., coll., etc.).
