Born: 1854, o/b H.M.S. Vesuvius. Died: 1911, The Hague, Holland.

 

career:

Joined the D.E. Indian Civil Service in 1875; in 1892 Assistant Resident at Palembang (S. Sumatra); in 1899 appointed Resident of the Southern and Eastern Divisions of Borneo, and in 1903 Governor of Celebes; he retired in 1906.

 

collections:

He sent material of Pandanus megacarpus Martelli n.sp. from the island Salayar (= Salajar) to Martelli in 1904. In Herb. Martelli (= Florence [FI]).1
