Born: 1875, Braunschweig, Germany. Died: 1932, Berlin, Germany.

 

career:

Took his Ph. Dr’s degree at Bonn in 1899; since 1908 Professor of Botany at Leipsic and subsequently from 1916 onwards at the Agricultural College, Berlin; in the latter place in addition Director of the Botanical Institute of the said College. He made a voyage to Java and stayed at Buitenzorg from Sept. 1909-March 1910.1 His sojourn in the tropics resulted in some papers.2

He collected at least at Depok (W. Java, 1910) (cf. Rec. Trav. Bot. néerl. 15, p. 41). The cited material was sent to H. Hallier, then at Leiden [L].
